Timberwolves - Major Kelly

Coach Kelly, known as "Major" is a retired Major with the Florida Highway Patrol, where he served for thirty years.  He played baseball in Jacksonville, Florida from Little League through high school where he was a three-year starting catcher on the Ribault Sr. High School Varsity Team.  He received several scholarship offers and played two years at St. John's River Junior College in Palatka, Florida.
 
Major has coached for more than thirty years in various leagues over most of Florida involving different age groups.  This included one year as Assistant Head Varsity Coach at Rickards High School in Tallahassee (2001).  He coached his son, David D. Kelly until he reached high school, Tallahassee Community College and Florida State University.
 
The last five years, Major has coached at Levy Park, and assisted his son coaching various age groups with the Tallahassee Heat and Tallahassee Tomahawks baseball teams.
 
Major is married to his wife of forty-two years, Peggy Kelly, and they have three children and six grandchildren.
