Marauders - Alan Baker

Alan Baker has been coaching youth baseball since 2002. After an initial stint with the YMCA for a few years he joined the ranks of City of Tallahassee volunteer coaches, working with both the City's Atom and Cub leagues. He then moved to 'competitive' youth baseball, taking the reins of a Little Major League team at Winthrop Park. His teams at Winthrop were hugely successful, winning a pair of league championships. He also coached Winthrop Allstar teams, completing his career at the "Mecca on Mitchell" in 2012.

After a brief stint coaching a Powermill Baseball travel team, he was offered and accepted the position of middle school coach at Maclay School. A year later, he moved up to lead Maclay's JV team where he remains as head coach.

Alan coached the Marauders Babe Ruth team to a regular season title in 2015. Coach Baker is widely known as a 'players coach' and maintains a fundamental philosophy of helping develop young men into good baseball players and better people.
