Operational UpdateUpdatedFriday May 1, 2020 byTLBR Board.
All of us at TLBR sincerely hope you’re coping with and staying healthy during the Coronavirus pandemic. We know how much being at a ballpark watching your son play baseball would be therapeutic – certainly for you but more important the kids who love the game of baseball.
Regarding the status of our 2020 season, we continue to closely monitor updates on the virus provided by health professionals, local government agencies, and state/national Babe Ruth officials. We remain hopeful that we’ll have a season this year, though the start would obviously be delayed. The key component for us to play will be the availability of fields, whether maintained by schools (both public and private), Leon County, or the City of Tallahassee. As you likely know, Leon County Schools will remain closed for the remainder of the 2019-2020 school year. Meanwhile, County and City ballparks remain closed ‘until further notice.’ We hope to have an update from both agencies soon, as well as the Leon County School District regarding use of school facilities this summer.
We’ll convey any and all pertinent information just as soon as we receive it. For now, keep your players engaged through exercise, throwing in the yard or at a local park, or hitting off a tee wherever possible. Please continue to practice social distancing, particularly if you venture to a public facility.
Thank you for your patience and understanding, and be safe!
